Adventism is a branch of Protestant Christianity [1] [2] that believes in the imminent Second Coming (or the "Second Advent") of Jesus Christ.It originated in the 1830s in the United States during the Second Great Awakening when Baptist preacher William Miller first publicly shared his belief that the Second Coming would occur at some point between 1843 and 1844.
Teachings on Christian perfection and personal holiness were present in the religious revival of the Great Awakening in America and were evident in early Adventist movements such as the "Holy Flesh movement" in Indiana around the turn of the 19th century which Ellen White quickly rebuked."
In the 1880s he was a religious liberty advocate and five years later got a license from the Seventh-day Adventist church. [2] In 1890 Ballenger was elected as secretary of the National Religious Liberty Association and by 1893 served as assistant editor of the American Sentinel magazine. [ 1 ]
At the formation of the church in the 19th century, many of the Adventist leaders held to an antitrinitarian view, thanks to many antitrinitarian Christian Connexion ministers entering the former Millerite fold. Ellen G. White contributed to this discussion by helping to develop a landmark doctrine called "the personality of God."

The Adventists embraced the Three Angels messages, starting with the first in Revelation 14:6-7, which changed the thinking of many denominations who today embrace the pre-millennial and literal Second Coming of Christ instead of a thousand years of peace and prosperity that was taught back in the early 19th century.
