Serena’s intervention, as well as the narrator’s steadily rythmic journey towards power makes the path feel fated and destined. This is a particularly interesting theme, given that the nature of the choose-your-own-adventure format prevents anthing from ever truly being fated. It’s done well, however.

Based on the title I expected a story game that 'colored' a drawing in with colors determined by the choices the player makes. While it wasn't what I expected, I'm not disappointed because I think the concept of this comic is interesting. This feels more like a prologue than it does a season.
However, the word level, pacing, and content look like they would be really good for my ESL students. They kept in the excitement, but took out all the difficulty. I might have the English Club try this out and see how they do. I have been looking for a choose-your-own-adventure story on a low level for a while so I'm so glad I found this!
The witty narration and self-aware commentary do little to distract from the clear lack of challenge or real threat to your character. Being able to survive Phase One using only common sense and not taking any risks or inserting yourself into danger and chaos makes sense, but the author sort of implies it will get harder as the game and, thus ...
