OLED TVs are known for being some of the thinnest on the market, often just a few millimeters thick. At least until you reach the bulkier section at the back where the components are housed, that is. Sony has taken note of customer feedback about this design and has made changes to the BRAVIA 8.
With over a decade of unparalleled excellence in the OLED domain, LG's newest OLED evo TVs enhance the viewing experience through self-lit picture quality, the latest AI-driven processor, and an upgraded webOS platform that offers an array of smart features, alongside access to a continually expanding library of content with LG channels.
The Samsung OLED tech uses some kind of blue pixel tech, I wonder if that's a cause. OLED contrast; High refresh rates; The brightness of this newer OLED tech. However to counter some of the above: Both my phone, iPad and PC screens run at 120Hz, and they aren't a problem; My phone and laptop are both 4K OLED screens with high nit levels.
The colors are MUCH better than the G3, although color volume wise it isnt a match for QD OLED. I'd say the difference is only noticeable maybe 5% of the time in my estimation. We used the following calibration settings to review the 65-inch (Sony K-65XR80) Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED, but they're also valid for the 55-inch model (Sony K-55XR80) and the 77-inch model (Sony K-77XR80).
The deal between Samsung and LG is not signed (yet). If that happens, it will be interesting to see what Samsung will do. I would expect they will announce at least one more OLED TV Series then (S90B/S80B for example). It is very unlikely that they will mix WOLED and QD-OLED panels within the S95B series due to different specs.
