The City of Live Oak City Council is compromised of an elected Mayor and five council members, all of whom are chosen at large. Terms are for a period of two years with the Mayor and Council Places Two and Four being elected in even years. Places One, Three and Five are elected in odd years.
Created in the 1971 from property donated by a developer Llyod Denton and currently serving as a major flood control project, the Live Oak main park has its primary entrance off Welcome Dr. and Leafy Hollow.

Animal Control strives to educate the Citizens of Live Oak on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals to help reduce the number of unwanted and unclaimed strays on our neighborhood streets.

Our Department is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of our residents. The City of Live Oak is a zoned City, and we do require permits to be obtained from our office BEFORE any work is started. Permits are required for all new construction.
Anas Garfaoui joined Team Live Oak in April of 2022 as the Assistant City Manager. He was then appointed as City Manager by City Council in January of 2024.
