Here is why, in my humble opinion, you should consider using the browser version of Discord instead of the desktop. Performance. The desktop version uses the electron framework, which is basically just Chrome bundled with a Node.js runtime that runs all the code a browser can't run.

Can confirm I'm having the same issue. It's only Instagram links in Discord; no issues with links sent on other apps. Have cleared my cache for Discord, Insta and web browser. Reinstalled Discord and Insta. Phone restarted. Confirmed app settings are correct (links to open in native applications). Starting to lose my shit a little.
Browser discord is much more limited than the app. There are many points about this, for example discord optimization in the browser is far behind the app in my experience. And this is not the only example. I advise you to use the application, it is supported and works much better.
getting "well this is awkward looks like discord has crashed unexpectedly" on startup on the desktop app, the webbrowser on opera, and chrome, thankfully it still works on my phone but that seems to be the only saving grace, i found a bunch of 4 year old threads telling me to delete the discord folders in appdata and local appdata which prior the browser versions were working but not since.
I use the browser version of Discord. I would like someone to give me some pros and cons of each. I especially wish to know if one is slower than the other, and if one slows down your pc more than the other. Thank you
