City workhouse castle (Vine Street workhouse castle, Brant Castle [3]) is a city historical register site located at 2001 Vine Street in Kansas City, Missouri.The castle was constructed by contractors in 1897 for US$25,700 (equivalent to $971,000 in 2024) next to the natural deposit of yellow limestone which had been quarried by inmates of the preceding city workhouse jail across Vine Street.
The two most noticeable postmodern buildings in the Kansas City skyline are the Town Pavilion (built in 1986) and One Kansas City Place (1988).
