KIAH (channel 39) is a television station in Houston, Texas, United States, serving as the local outlet for The CW. Owned and operated by network majority owner Nexstar Media Group, the station maintains studios adjacent to the Westpark Tollway on the southwest side of Houston, and its transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated Fort Bend County.
KPRC-TV (channel 2) is a television station in Houston, Texas, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Graham Media Group.Its studios are located on Southwest Freeway (I-69/US 59) in the Southwest Management District (formerly Greater Sharpstown), [4] [5] and its transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated northeastern Fort Bend County.
Under Capital Cities, KTRK increased its focus on local news programming. After channel 13 expanded its local newscasts to 30 minutes in January 1967, in the final months under Houston Consolidated, [28] in 1969, the station adopted the Eyewitness News name for its newscasts; [29] at the time, it was a distant third place behind KPRC and KHOU.
