Ligonier is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States.The population was 1,513 at the 2020 census. [3] Ligonier was settled in the 1760s. The borough is well known for nearby Idlewild Park, one of the oldest amusement parks in the country; and nearby Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
Fredericksburg is located east of the center of Gillespie County 70 miles (110 km) north of San Antonio and 78 miles (126 km) west of Austin.. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.3 square kilometres (8.6 sq mi), of which 22.2 square kilometres (8.6 sq mi) are land and 0.12 km 2 (0.05 sq mi), or 0.55%, is covered by water.
The community is in southeastern Blair County, in the northeastern part of North Woodbury Township.It is bordered to the south by Pennsylvania Route 164, which leads west 2 miles (3 km) to Martinsburg and southeast over Tussey Mountain 4.5 miles (7.2 km) to Pennsylvania Route 26 in Bedford County, 5 miles (8 km) north of Saxton.
The Ligonier Township Municipal Authority (whose board members are appointed by the supervisors) provides water and sewage service to township residents. Fire protection services are provided by a 100% totally volunteer force, from three of the township's villages. The Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1 (in the village of Waterford).
