The Jefferson Park Transit Center is an intermodal passenger transport hub in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It serves as a station for rail and also as a bus terminal. Jefferson Park Transit Center's railroad station is on Metra 's Union Pacific Northwest Line , with the station located at 4963 North Milwaukee Avenue.
Unlimited Ride passes allow travel on all CTA buses and trains with a 1-Day Fun Pass, or 3-day, 7-day or 30-day unlimited-ride passes. The pass, via Ventra, activates the first time the rider uses it and is good for the number of consecutive days shown on the front of the pass. 1-Day ($10), 3-Day ($20), 7-Day ($33) and 30-Day ($100). The Ventra app allows customers to perform the same functions for the CTA as the desktop version including managing Ventra accounts, reloading cards and buying passes. It also has a transit tracker. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is the operator of mass transit in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and some of its suburbs, including the trains of the Chicago "L" and CTA bus service. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 279,146,200, or about 993,700 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2024.
In 2004, the CTA, projecting a $55 million funding shortfall in its 2005 budget, called for a "long term funding solution," involving a change to the sales tax distribution formula in the RTA Act. [20] In response, the Illinois General Assembly appropriated $54 million to cover the cost of CTA's paratransit service for 2005. [21]
To the west of the bus terminal and north of the railroad tracks is the Pulaski park and ride lot. The park and ride lot has 390 spaces which cost $4 for 12 hours and is operated by Standard Parking. [8] Pulaski serves the Archer Heights and West Elsdon neighborhoods of Chicago, which has both commercial and residential areas.
