Acupuncture and Massage (AMC) was founded in 1983 as the Acupressure-Acupuncture Institute. In 2000, the school was granted program-accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and was re-named the Southeast Institute of Oriental Medicine (SEIOM), to reflect a broader commitment to Oriental Medicine education.
Norman Hall (originally known as P. K. Yonge Laboratory School) is a historic academic building on the eastern campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. It was designed by architect Rudolph Weaver in the Collegiate Gothic style, and built in 1932.
The college was officially established in 1956. The founding Dean of the college was Dr. George T. Harrell. Dr. Harrell also founded the College of Medicine at Pennsylvania State University, becoming the first person to found two medical schools. In March 2009, the college received the largest donation in its history.
