Yeah, 67% people AND many enterprises still use Windows 10. Windows 10 is much more HUGER than people think. Not to mention IoT LTSC still has support up until 2032 (yes, not 2023). Major software companies will drop Windows 10 support somewhere around 2029, chrome will go around 2030, and firefox most likely around 2031 or 32.
Actually, AM5 for me works better for gaming on Windows 10 than Windows 11. I have a dual boot between windows 10 and windows 11 on my desktop, Ryzen 9 7900x and RTX 3080. Same game, same hardware, all drivers updated, OS updated. My CPU and GPU run about 5-10° C hotter on Windows 11 with about 5-10 lower FPS as well.
Idk if this works on a laptop but if you go to Settings -> Display -> Graphics -> "Change default graphics settings" -> then turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, it might help. Some people with nvidia cards on desktop say it helps them. Some says it made things worse depending on the game.
The newer Intel chips 11000 series to 14000 series that use P cores and E cores perform better in windows 11 because it's hyper thread scheduler is aware of the difference between power cores and efficiency cores. Windows 11 has a gaming mode that is supposed to idle background tasks while your game is running.
Yeah, I won't tell anyone not to 'upgrade' if they want to, but I definitely won't. Microsoft is pretty disappointing with this whole good>bad>good>bad version release cycle. Combined with dumb things like forcing people to use their Microsoft account on their Personal Computers (started with Windows 10, made worse in Windows 11) instead of just making a local account like it's always been
No piracy or so-called "grey-market" software keys. This is includes suggesting, hinting, or in any way implying to someone that piracy or the use of these licenses is an option. If a key is abnormally cheap (think $10-30), it is probably one of these, and is forbidden on r/buildapc. 169 votes, 310 comments.
All of my games run considerably faster than in Windows 10. Not recommended if you gonna gaming on windows 11. I made a post in windows insiders asking about game performance. The vast majority of people said it was exactly the same or slightly better.
Windows 11 is stable, and has better gaming performance from what I found. However, Microsoft tries to force you into making an account so they can collect your data. Forced updates and Windows Defender seems worse in 11 than it did in 10, my laptop fan goes full blast when Windows first loads up and my system is bogged down despite having no ...
A little concern of mine is gaming performance. I have heard that Windows 10 still is better for higher FPS than 11 but at the same time heard Windows 11 is way better now throughout updates. If it’s like a 3% decrease in performance, I won’t really mind. Also, the modern UI is why I kinda want to stay on 11. It’s just a nice look for the ...
