    Since canned food can be every bit as high-calorie as kibble, I see no reason your vet would have recommended it except for the fact that there is a higher water content to fill the dog up. So, since you are doing well with the kibble, soaking it will achieve the same result, and you can just reduce the amount you are giving the dog.

    A few of our dogs have mild low-blood sugar issues, but they get bedtime and treats and other snacks that help. Since your dog has severe issues, I would suggest probably what your vet has, at least four meals a day. They don't have to be big but they should be high quality, with protein, fat and carbohydrates but not sugars or corn.

I'll obviously defer to your veterinary professional regarding any medical treatment, but honestly, those poops look fine to me.
