It's really puzzling to me why the UFC isn't pushing the Aspinall vs Jones fight. You would think that they're eager to make Aspinall a big star by letting him fight Jones. But nope Dana is dead insist on making Jones vs Stipe, a fight no real fans want to see. And pretty much wasting Aspinall's star potential.
Jon might fight Tom if the money is right. I'm not sure though right now Aspinall is big enough of a draw for UFC to offer Jon the right amount of money. Maybe in a year or two if Tom can spectacularly beat Gane and raise his profile even further. I'd really like to see the fight.

They don't and if they aren't mma fans, they don't have a clue who Tom Aspinall is. Mixed martial artists are far less known. Maybe a few dozen people tops there know who Tom is. One promotion promotes their roster. The other solely promotes their brand.
Blaydes has been a consistent top 5 since 2018 and Tom took him out in 1 min by KO. Pavlovich was on a tear and got taken out by KO inside 2 mins. Volkov is a very good HW who has never been submitted in 45 fights and Tom tapped him inside the 1st round. Considering that, it's not hard to figure out he's an elite level HW.
Think Jon retires, Tom gets elevated and first defense is against Alex. Think Poatan's team sees it this way. This could just be a post to see if there is interest in the fight, so they could take it to the UFC match makers and show this fight is more viable than an Ank fight (and much tougher, Tom is much better than Ank and is a difficult style matchu

Jul 27, 2024. #1. I'm probably to catch hell for this but I truly believe Aspinall is the one to finally beat Jon Jones. He's much younger, athletic for a HW, good striking, good grappling, power, killer instinct, and he's very confident. Genuinely confident. Jones is 37 years old and has been fighting less and less.
