I'm pretty sure the collecting of scrap paper at most schools is mostly to keep the exam sequestered and no one studies it that closely.
Acronyms for the names of the cranial nerves have been pretty much exhausted. But there are more important things than the names. Not sure if undergrad anatomy requires more than that, but here's a couple more that helped in med school and board studying: Functions: S= Sensory, M= Motor, B= Both
