St. Patrick Church is the oldest parish in the Federal City of Washington, D.C. Founded in 1794 to minister to the needs of the stonemasons building the White House and the U.S. Capitol, the parish continues to serve the needs of downtown Washington through daily Mass & confession, adult education, and cultural activities.

Our Archbishop, Cardinal-designate Wilton Gregory, has appointed Father Andrew Wakefield to be the Pastor of Saint Patrick Parish, effective January 13, 2021. Currently, Father Wakefield is the Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Beltsville, Maryland.

Saint Patrick's Day. Each year we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Patrick with a Mass concelebrated by Wilton Cardinal Gregory and auxiliary bishops. Traditional Irish music including Irish hymns are sung by St. Patrick’s Choir accompanied by flute and Celtic harp.
