[1] In 1988, [2] the Shapiros sold the fair to Renaissance Entertainment Corporation, having created a second incarnation of the King Richard's Faire in Carver, Massachusetts. The original King Richard's Faire was re-opened that year as the "Bristol Renaissance Faire".

Known as Middlebrook State Premium Farm Peach Orchard, in 1851 it was awarded the best farm in New York State. The property still maintains wooded areas of Eastern Hemlock, Red Maple, Elm and American Beech trees.
In the 1940s, Caldwell began construction of his own house near Bristol, Wisconsin, along with planting nearly 30 acres (120,000 m 2) of eastern hardwood forest. It was intended to be a working hobby farm. An apple orchard was planted, but farm buildings were never completed.
