Glasgow Central Station and the Hielanman's Umbrella has been renovated several times. [2]In 1998, the bridge was substantially refurbished by Railtrack (which later became Network Rail in 2002) in line with the rest of the station - its distinctive Venetian style windows were reglazed, and the gold "Central Station" lettering was applied.

Mount Vernon railway station is a railway station located in the Mount Vernon area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is on the Whifflet Line (a branch of the more extensive Argyle Line), 6 + 3 ⁄ 4 miles (10.9 km) east of Glasgow Central. Train services are provided by ScotRail.

The station suffers badly from congestion at concerts as most of Greater Glasgow can be reached from the station. There is a siding adjacent to Platform 2, that can be used as a turnback siding for trains terminating at Anderston or Glasgow Central Low Level. The line is served by Class 318s and Class 320s. Ticket gates are in operation.
