28 May is a Baku Metro station. It was opened on 6 November 1967. It was formerly called 28 April. [1] It is connected to the adjacent Baku Central Railway Station by a pedestrian tunnel. It is also nearby 28 May Shopping Mall. This station is located in the city Transport HUB. There is nearby Landmark Hotel Baku.
In 1967, the underground of the street was traversed by the first metro line, with 28 April station built nearby. In 1991, both the street and the station were renamed to 28 May to mark the anniversary of Azerbaijan's declaration of independence in 1918. Today 28 May Street is one of the largest in the city.
Azerbaijan Railway Museum (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dəmiryol Muzeyi) is a railway museum in Baku, Azerbaijan. The museum was opened in 2019. [1] The museum is located in the historic building of Sabunchu Railway Station in the city center of Baku, near Jafar Jabbarli Square (28 May metro station). [2]

In honor of this day the station of the Baku underground is named. Initially, it was called "April 28", since on 28 April 1920, Soviet power was established in Azerbaijan, and the ADR ceased to exist. However, after the Republic gained independence for the second time, the name, reminiscent of the Soviet past, was replaced by "May 28".
