The Houston SaberCats are an American professional rugby union team based in Houston, Texas, that competes in Major League Rugby (MLR). The team was founded in 2017. [1] The SaberCats organization was born from one of the founding amateur rugby clubs that pooled resources to emerge professionally, and were the first in MLR membership to build a rugby-specific stadium intended for MLR competition.
Construction of restrooms and locker rooms with east side stands and pavilion West side stands. In March 2017, local rugby organization and predecessor to the Houston SaberCats, the Houston Strikers publicly announced their plans to build a stadium at the Houston Sports Park located roughly three miles from NRG Park and eight miles from Downtown Houston along the South Freeway. Houston SaberCats (2018–2019) Delmar Stadium is a 12,000-seat stadium located at 1900 Mangum Road in Houston , Texas , United States. It is primarily used for American football games of Houston Independent School District schools.
Houston Sports Park (HSP) houses Sabercats Stadium, which is the home of the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby and is the training ground of the Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash and its academy teams. The facility is made up of the Memorial Hermann Champions Field, [1] one artificial turf field, and five additional grass fields.
