www.dshe.gov.bd Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education ( মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চশিক্ষা অধিদপ্তর ) is a Bangladesh government Directorate under the Ministry of Education responsible for improving education standards and access to education.
In 1971, the Bangladesh School Textbook Board was established. In 1976 it was constituted as the National Curriculum and Syllabus Committee and the National Curriculum Development Centre was established in 1981.

Dr. Muhammad Qudrat-e-Khoda Commission Report in 1974 recommended that the government of Bangladesh form a separate bureau within the Ministry of Education to collection information on education in Bangladesh. The bureau was modelled on the Central Bureau of Education.
