Coral Reef Senior High School is a secondary school located at 10101 S.W. 152nd Street in Richmond Heights, Florida, United States. The principal is Nicole Bergé-MacInnes. [ 2 ] Coral Reef is locally known as "Miami's Mega Magnet School" since it offers six different magnet programs.
Students are required to wear uniforms [8] consisting of a polo with the school crest, and khakis or jeans. Any clothing worn over a uniform shirt (i.e. a jacket or a coat) is required to be a school color — blue, grey, or white. Black is permitted. Uniformed shirts and outerwear are sold on-campus.
David Menasche (August 1, 1973 – November 20, 2014) was an American educator and a cofounding teacher of Coral Reef Senior High School in South Miami-Dade, Florida. It was built to relieve the overcrowding at Southwest Miami High, Coral Park Senior High and Coral Gables High School. The student body selected the Cobra as its mascot. The school's first principal, Warren Burchell, was originally from Ohio and chose the school colors, orange and brown, for the team colors of the NFL Cleveland Browns.
The page notes that Coral Reef was "the only school to receive an 'A' grade for its performance on the FCAT examination for the first nine years of its existence." I do not believe this is true as the very page it cites notes that it was a 'C' school in 1998-99 and a 'B' school in 2000-01.
