So - to save others struggling - here are the minimum hardware requirements for DaVinci Resolve 18.0.4 on Windows which I just got from the Readme. • Windows 10 Creators Update. • 16 GB of system memory. 32 GB when using Fusion.

I looked through all the versions of DaVinci resolve; until 2011. I realized all the files are X86 Windows. If I download DaVinci resolve, will it work fine on an X64 computer, or will it give problems?

I accidentally installed Resolve Studio 16b7 when I wanted just Resolve. But again, the installer did *not* create an entry in the control panel so I can uninstall. There was no DaVinci Resolve link installed on the menu - only "DaVinci Resolve Panels" (which runs). When I went to the installation directory and tried to run Resolve.exe, the message displayed was: The procedure entry point DeleteCritcalSection could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll.
I am new to Davinci Resolve, and editing. When I import my videos, there's no sound when editing. I've dug through all the youtube videos etc, checked all the settings, everything looks fine. The audio bar in the EQ shows it's playing sound, but nothing comes out.
Thank you so much. After trying to find the answer on searches, I finally landed on this post and found the solution to my audio problem. I am just trying to get a working copy of Davinci Resolve installed for the first time in order to even begin the process of learning how to use it. Once again, thanks for removing one of my obstacles.
