Jefferson Township is a former civil township in Cook County, Illinois, United States that existed as a separate municipality from 1850 until 1889 when it was annexed into the city of Chicago. [1] Its borders were Devon Avenue on the north, Harlem Avenue on the west, Western Avenue to the east, and North Avenue to the south. [ 2 ]

[3] Muhammad Sadiq attracted thousands of converts in his short stay in America, most notably in Detroit and Chicago between 1922 and 1923. [4]
The township was annexed into the city of Chicago in 1889, and its functions fell into abeyance. Townships in Chicago were abolished in 1902; [2] however, they, including Lake Township, are still used for property assessment purposes. [3] The former township hub became the Englewood neighborhood.
