Okuyasu is overly dependent on his elder brother Keicho to make hard decisions. After his brother dies, he seeks revenge against the user of the Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper, Akira Otoishi, and becomes friends with Josuke and Koichi. Okuyasu's father is a bizarre creature that can regenerate rapidly, rendering him immortal.
Josuke defeats Okuyasu and heals Koichi with Crazy Diamond, with Koichi developing a Stand called Echoes. After Keicho is defeated with his reason of creating Stand users to create someone able to mercy kill his father, a mutated subordinate of Dio's, Keicho is killed by Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper, which takes the Bow and Arrow.
The next day, Jotaro calls on Josuke, Okuyasu, and Koichi to inform them that Joseph, whose Stand Hermit Purple can potentially detect Red Hot Chili Pepper's user, is due to arrive at the port. Having heard the whole conversation, Red Hot Chili Pepper appears from Okuyasu's motorcycle's battery and attempts to escape only to be stopped by Okuyasu.
Giving it a 3 out of 5 rating, the Nerdist's Scott Beggs called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Chapter I energetic, imaginative and fun, but fatally flawed. He praised the detailed visuals which result in a "movie that uses real people and places to look like an anime " and the fast-paced first half as consistently funny.
