Sa'adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, was established in 1981 by the Kano State government, originally known as Advanced Teacher's College (ATC), Waje, it was initially located at Pilgrims Camp and later renamed College of Education, Kumbotso, in 1982, it moved to Zaria Road, Kano, under the Kano State Institute for Higher Education.
The university is ranked 123rd in the list of Best Universities in Nigeria. The then governor of Kano state, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso proposed establishing the university during his first tenure. [4] The university was renamed to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, in 2022 by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. [5]
