Schrafft's was founded by William G. Schrafft as a candy manufacturer in Boston, but over time the company also became a well-known restaurant.In 1898, Frank G. Shattuck, a salesman for the Schrafft company from Upstate New York, opened a candy store at Broadway and West 36th Street in Manhattan, New York City. [1]
Truckee reportedly had one of the nation's first mechanized ski lifts at the site of the Hilltop Lodge. [13] The historic Hilltop Lodge was converted to a restaurant in the 1940s by the Crandall Brothers, and eventually became Cottonwood Restaurant and Bar. [14] There were possibly two rope tows and a Poma lift, which was installed in 1954. [15]

The Casper and Abraham Shafer Grist Mill Complex is located at 928 Main Street in the village of Stillwater in Stillwater Township of Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The historic grist mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 10, 2009, for its significance in industry. [ 1 ]
NO. 302 OLD MILL – The Old Mill, El Molino Viejo, was designed by Father José María Zalvidea and built of fired bricks and adobe about 1816 to serve Mission San Gabriel. Another grist mill was built in 1823 near the mission and the old mill was gradually abandoned – it passed from mission control in 1846.
