Tiger is a custom-built guitar owned by Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia. Garcia commissioned luthier Doug Irwin to design and build the guitar in 1973 following delivery of Wolf, his first major Irwin-built guitar. Upon commissioning the instrument, Garcia asked Irwin to "make it the way he thought was best, and don't hold back."
It contains live performances of Grateful Dead songs from a 2012 concert by Bob Weir and a number of other musicians, called "Move Me Brightly: Celebrating Jerry Garcia's 70th Birthday". The film also includes interviews with some of the performers, other musicians, and members of the Grateful Dead extended family.
At 74, the Grateful Dead's Weir remains a musical adventurer, from his trio Wolf Bros to collaborating with orchestras to reimagining the Dead's legacy.
Included in this four CD set is the entire March 28, 1972 performance plus selections from March 25, 1972 and March 27, 1972. The March 25 show (a semi-private party booked by the Hell's Angels and billed as "Jerry Garcia & Friends") featured Bo Diddley as a guest, whose performance, backed by the Grateful Dead, is included in Disc One.
