  2. Velocity squared and position graph - Physics Forums

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/velocity-squared-and-position-graph.254360

I have a velocity squared vs position graph and I am confused on what the slope means. I'm guessing that the slope is the displacement? I'm am also suppose to find the acceleration using this slope. The slope I calculated right now is 2.0x10^3 cm^3/s^2 and I can't really connect that into finding an acceleration which would be close to 9.80m/s^2

  3. What Does the Slope of a Force vs. Acceleration Graph Indicate?

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/what-does-the-slope-of-a-force-vs-acceleration...

A force vs. acceleration graph is a visual representation of the relationship between the amount of force applied to an object and the resulting acceleration of the object. It is commonly used to study the motion of objects in physics. How do you interpret a force vs. acceleration graph? The slope of a force vs. acceleration graph represents ...

  4. Converting velocity/time graph to acceleration/time - Physics...

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/converting-velocity-time-graph-to-acceleration...

The formula for calculating acceleration from a velocity/time graph is a = Δv/Δt, with units typically being meters per second squared (m/s^2) or kilometers per hour squared (km/h^2). Negative acceleration can also be represented on a velocity/time graph, indicating deceleration in the direction of motion.

  5. Acceleration of Sound & Velocity vs. Acceleration - Physics...

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/acceleration-of-sound-velocity-vs-acceleration...

The acceleration of sound is directly proportional to the temperature of the medium it is traveling through. As the temperature increases, the speed of sound also increases. What is the difference between velocity and acceleration? Velocity is the rate of change of position over time, while acceleration is the rate of change of velocity over time.

  6. Velocity vs. Time with Uniform Acceleration and Braking Rate

(Hint: A graph of velocity vs. time can be helpful.) Homework Equations No "equations" really, rather, just the calculus relationship between position, velocity, and acceleration. The Attempt at a Solution In constructing a velocity vs. time graph, I found the acceleration (or slope of the line) to be 68m/s / 30 s = 2.27m/s 2.

  7. Understanding Non-Zero Velocity vs. Non-Zero Acceleration -...

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/understanding-non-zero-velocity-vs-non-zero...

Non-zero velocity and acceleration are closely related. Acceleration is the rate at which an object's velocity changes. If an object has a non-zero velocity, it means it is moving at a certain speed and direction. Any change in speed or direction would result in a change in velocity, and therefore, acceleration. For example, when a car speeds ...

  8. How to get a Fnet vs. time graph from a velocity vs time graph.

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/how-to-get-a-fnet-vs-time-graph-from-a-velocity...

To get a Fnet vs. time graph from a velocity vs. time graph, you will need to use the equation Fnet = ma, where Fnet is the net force, m is the mass, and a is the acceleration. You can find the acceleration from the velocity vs. time graph by calculating the slope of the line at any given point.

  9. Finding velocity and position from an acceleration vs time graph

Homework Statement The graph of acceleration versus time for an object in linear motion. Assuming the object starts from rest at the origin at t = 0, find the velocity and position of the object at times t = 1 through 10 seconds. Homework Equations ##v=v_i + at##The Attempt at a Solution I...

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/how-to-rank-radial-acceleration-magnitudes-from...

The formula for angular velocity is ω = Δθ/Δt, where ω is the angular velocity, Δθ is the change in angle, and Δt is the change in time. 3. What does the slope of an Angular Velocity vs time graph represent? The slope of an Angular Velocity vs time graph represents the angular acceleration of the object. It shows how quickly the angular ...

  11. Finding acceleration from Velocity vs Position graph - Physics...

    www.physicsforums.com/threads/finding-acceleration-from-velocity-vs-position...

This means that acceleration is directly related to both velocity and position. How can I find acceleration from a Velocity vs Position graph? To find acceleration from a Velocity vs Position graph, you can calculate the slope of the line at any given point. The slope at a specific point represents the instantaneous acceleration at that point ...
