Brendan Gleeson (born 29 March 1955) is an Irish actor. He has received various accolades , including a Primetime Emmy Award , two British Independent Film Awards and three IFTA Awards , along with nominations for an Academy Award , three BAFTA Awards and five Golden Globe Awards .
Gleeson was born 12 May 1983 [2] in Dublin, Ireland. [3] He was raised in Malahide, County Dublin, the eldest son of Mary (née Weldon) and actor Brendan Gleeson. [4] He has three brothers: Fergus, Brian (also an actor), and Rory. [5] He attended Malahide Community School, where he performed in school productions of Grease and King Lear. [6]
