Re: Recommendation for .45 acp Semi-Wad Cutter Bullets. 185 vs 200 honestly comes down to personal preference. Personally I typically shoot 185, but I have also found that 200s shoot well too. Some old timers claim that the 200s are more accurate, but I have found that 185s in a good gun are also extremely accurate.

Re: .45 ACP Coated Bullets. by Allgoodhits 6/10/2023, 7:55 pm. I have loaded and fired many thousands of Bayou and Brazos Hitek coated bullets in .45 acp, .38 spl, 9mm and .38 Super. They are among the cleanest burning/shooting bullets I have ever used, including jacketed. My load experience is target loads using WST, WSF, Clays, VV N310 and VV ...

I have a couple of questions regarding reloads for 45 ACP 1911 Bullseye loads. We, my son and I, shoot bullseye matches in Arizona. Slow fire is at reduces 50 yard targets at 25 yards. We are currently using Missouri Bullet company 185 SWC coated bullets and 3.6 grs. BE. The bullets weight out at closer to 188 grains then the stated 185 ...

Greetings, I was going to load and barrel test some of the Zero 0.451" 185 JHP and using QuickLoad and Gordons Reloading Tool I calculate 3.6 grains of VV N310 for a velocity of 775 FPS. In the past, most Federal, Winchester, Western, Peters, and Remington 185 grain match ammo chronographed about 775 FPS average.

Re: Bob's Bullets - 45 ACP 160gn SWC. by Bullseye99 Tue Dec 18, 2018 9:16 pm. Just received the bullets. Ordered them at the suggestion of Dave Salyer who’s been using the 160 gr bullets with 4.5 grains of Bullseye powder for years at both the 25’ and 50’ lines with great results. I will load to his specs and try them out.

Re: 160gr 45 loads. My load for the 160 is 4.05 to 4.3 of BE depending on the strength of the lot in use. Experimentation with 4.8 of W231 and 4.4 of 700x shot well also. Right now I'm working on WST, of which 8 lbs was obtained during the last pdr shortage, and am at 3.8 gr w/it.

by DavidR 6/24/2014, 4:41 pm. The preferred 45 acp bullets of bullseye, are lead semi wad cutter's in 160, 185 and 200 grain, available from a huge number of sources. Magnus bullet's has a good selection at fair prices. The next preferred but at a greater expense would be the 185 full metal jacket hollow points, best source zero bullets or nosler.

Re: Nosler Competition 185 gr. JHP .45 ACP Bullets. by Axehandle 10/6/2014, 8:19 am. Told many moons ago by an All NG pistolsmith that the guilt edge of accuracy of a 45 ACP wadcutter gun is gone in just a very few 1000 rounds of jacketed bullets. This was at a time when the NGMTU had virtually limitless budget and resources to test such things.

Re: reloading .45 ACP. by Rob Kovach 7/21/2013, 1:09 am. Try speeding it up a little for the 50 yard line. I use 3.9 bullseye under lubed and sized Lead SemiWadcutters. I use that recipe for both 200gr and 185gr. I am happy with where the 200gr bullets go for the 50 yard line, and recoil isn't too bad.

Re: Titegroup for 45 ACP. I use 4.2 gr of titegroup for 45 acp 200gr swc in my les baer wadcutter. From the same sources, 4.8 gr of titegroup for the hardball amo: 45 acp 230 FMJ in my ball gun. I am just starting to load the 38 special swc for my 686, I see recommendations between 3.2-3.8 of titegroup.
