I got windows from Home Depot two years ago, all were custom windows - I had to provide measurements. They were Simonton 5500s. 7 double hung, 3 sliders (2 double and 1 triple) and a garden window for the kitchen. Vinyl windows, tan in color inside and out. Was about $6500 for all, windows only no installation.

Any time the temps dropped below 20F I get condensation on all the window frames. The colder it gets, frost builds up on the inside of the house - on the glass, the frames and around the frames on the wood.

I didn't care for the Jen Weld windows I saw when I compared them to the Pella wood/aluminum windows, the price was only like $35 difference but the Pella was much better constructed, solid wood and joined pieces not particleboard stapled, and they were packed with a lot of protection.

I was concerned about what this meant - whether it was some kind of shipping damage, or minor quality fit issues. Home depot had the Andersen Windows rep look at the ...

If there is one header that spans both rough openings, you can get two windows ganged together from the factory or you can use only a couple studs and ...

Note when the protrusion goes into the plastic it becomes an adjustment point, so you can back the screw out a little to ensure you get them plumb. Box stores sell thin flat head screws similar without the protrusion ...

I mentioned a few months ago electrical wires are now behind cages and if you want any wires they will not give it to you but tell you to pay for it at "cashier station #10" and it will wait for ...

I have been looking for some type of low-cost, reusable material to protect my backyard house windows from damage when I use my gasoline powered string trimmer. In the past two years, I caused window breakages when the trimmer hurled small high velocity stones. I gave this considerable thought and I ...
