Opening times 2024/2025. From the 1st October, Floors Castle, the Grounds, Courtyard Cafe and Castle Gift Shop will be closed to the public for the winter season, however our beautiful Walled Garden, Apple Shed and Terrace Cafe will still remain open 7 days a week from 10:30am – 4pm.
This season we are bringing live music to Floors Castle, along with gardens events, outdoor theatre, behind the scenes tours, fitness events and family fun for all ages! We are continually enhancing our attraction to offer you and your family the best day out in Scotland!
Though the family can trace its lineage back to the High Middle Ages, family history pertinent to Floors Castle begins with the 5th Earl of Roxburgh, who was made the 1st Duke in 1707.

Just over an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Newcastle, visit this stunning Castle and see for yourself the collection of fine art, porcelain, newly restored tapestries, grand rooms and superb views.
The main gates and driveway at the top of Roxburghe Street are open through the main open season, offering you stunning views of the castle as you enter and arrive at our free parking site. Visitors requiring the Terrace Cafe and the Gardens can enter through the rear entrance off the B6397.
