The USC Thornton School of Music is a private music school in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1884 only four years after the University of Southern California, the Thornton School is the oldest continually operating arts institution in Los Angeles. Nathaniel "Nick" Rosen (born June 9, 1948 in Altadena, California) is an American cellist, the gold medalist of the 1978 International Tchaikovsky Competition, and former faculty member at the USC Thornton School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. [1]
In 1995, Potenza joined the faculty of the Studio/Jazz Guitar Department at the University of Southern California's Flora L. Thornton School of Music. [3] In 2000, he completed his Master's in Music at California State University in Los Angeles. Shortly after, Potenza was promoted to full professor at USC.
