The station was initially named South Campus. However, in December 2014, the Delhi government renamed it to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus. [4] The renaming of the station to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus is somewhat counterintuitive, as it obscures the original and more straightforward identifier, "South Campus".
