The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. The 2025 African Badminton Championships was a continental badminton championships in Africa sanctioned by the Badminton Confederation of Africa, and the Badminton World Federation. The mixed team and individual events were held from 10 to 16 February 2025.
The mixed team competed at the 2014 African Badminton Championships. The team were drawn into Group A with South Africa, Seychelles, Botswana and Cameroon. The Zambian mixed team first competed in the 1982 African Badminton Championships. The team finished as runners-up after losing to Nigeria in the final. Zambia then competed in the 2017 African Badminton Championships. The Zambian team finished as group runner-up and advanced to the semi-finals for a guaranteed bronze medal. [8]
