Hello, It is my 2nd year in community college and so far, I have a D in my statistics class. I am a deans lister and doing so well in my classes except for this one. The final exam is around the corner and there is no way of dropping the class anymore with a W. I still try to do my homework but I just feel like it is not even helping my grade to get me to a C. I am going for the nursing ...

I’m a freshman and so far all my classes beside one are great. I’m getting good grades, making friends and really enjoying this school. My problem is that I’m failing my stats class. I study about an hour everyday between classes, I read the lesson and go over the home work and if I don’t understand something I go to the math center (only went once) we took two tests so far and I ...

  5. Calculus vs. Statistics - College Confidential Forums

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/calculus-vs-statistics/1314592

Thanks so much! I’m thinking of an English degree or business (possibly neuroscience but only like a 15% chance haha). Based on your replies it sounds like statistics would be my best bet. There is a statistics class for business majors which is easier, but I actually want to take the “real” one.

  6. AP Statistics vs CC Statistics - High School Life - College ...

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/ap-statistics-vs-cc...

I am a high school senior. I am already taking five APs this year. I want to join the choir program as a piano accompanist, but the only class period available is that of AP Statistics at my school. I have the option to take Introduction to Statistics at my local community college to smooth out the schedule conflict but I’ve heard that colleges don’t like it when you take already available ...

  7. Is statistics a hard course? - College Confidential Forums

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/is-statistics-a-hard-course/...

That’s assuming that this is a non-calculus-based statistics class…calculus-based statistics will have more than that. But statistics classes that are intended for non-majors or for social science majors generally do have more emphasis on concepts and on simple arithmetic/algebra. I’d say it depends on why you are bad at math.

  8. Statistics or Pre-Calculus? - College Confidential Forums

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/statistics-or-pre-calculus/...

Next year is my senior year of high school and I have to choose between taking pre-calculus or statistics. I’m unsure of which class to choose because stats is new in our school, and not many people are aware of it. I plan on majoring in psychology in college and I’m TERRIBLE at math. If some one could explain the difference between the two and which is a better choice for me that would be ...

  9. Statistics: the easiest-hardest class ever? - College...

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/statistics-the-easiest...

It’s basically a logic class with very little use of math and formulas aren’t difficult to apply. However, it’s a notoriously hard class which most people earn a C+ in due to the fact that it’s taught horrendously by most professors. Combinatorics is an important part of discrete math and fundamental to probability and statistics.

  10. Taking high school credit classes in middle school

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/taking-high-school-credit...

S22 felt chronically behind in the Alg I in 7th grade class. He would’ve been better served by doing “8th grade math” and only being 1 yr advanced rather than 2. (He completed AB Calc as a sr. in high school, and has only needed to take a statistics class at college. He is much more “writing/history/social studies” focused.)

  11. is Statistics a hard class to take during a 5-week summer...

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/is-statistics-a-hard-class...

My college just said they are offering Statistics this summer.

I want to take Stats b/c UCSB wants it for “Economics and Accounting” majors.

I can either take it this coming summer as a 5 week session class or during Spring 2012. But the thing is I’ll be taking Stats while I’m also taking Calculus 2 (plus Korean II plus an undecided Arts/Humanities class) and I’m ...
