To open your tray, look under the front of it. There is a small wheel that you can use the finger of the xbox tool to rotate by pulling from right to left. (In other words, rotate clockwise as seen from above.)
I tested the drive open/closed sensors/contacts and there seemed to be an issue with those. I cleaned the contacts, and they now appear to be working. But I still get no power to the disc tray motor.
