violinkeri. •. We have 3 registries, including Amazon- the option to ship to you is there in case people who are not coming to the wedding would like to send a gift. Most of our guests are shipping things to themselves, so they can wrap and bring it. I agree have it set to a parent's address.
Discuss your personal wedding planning here! Please be sure to check out our rules. Do NOT use amazon wedding registry. Registered for Amazon’s wedding discount. Qualified for the 20% discount at the end. Went to try and use it. There’s also much red tape and fine print. You have to meet a certain amount.
If you really want to be anonymous, you could purchase it not through their registry and then ship to them, but be sure to mark it as purchased so no one else duplicates the gift. And maybe include a note about wanting to go “un-thanked” so they don’t stress over it. 2. Reply.
I've received three emails from Zola saying that gifts from Amazon have been purchased, and they're marked "purchased" on Zola's site, but on my Amazon registry page it doesn't show any purchased items.
I was just checking up on our registry (bridal shower this weekend woohoo!!) and Amazon has a "thank you" section where it keeps track of who bought what with their addresses so you can send them thank you notes.
Macy's leads the pack with 20 percent plus an additional savings on mattresses, furniture, and rugs. Amazon is really generous with their 20 percent discount. Target and West Elm both offer 15 percent off the remainder of your registry and there are a number of stores that provide a 10 percent discount, too.
I thought it would be a nice option- and that it was just that- an option. But somehow everyone who meant to outright buy a gift individually, funded it fully as a group gift instead. I didn't read every single FAQ for the Amazon registry... but this means that we, the recipients, are responsible for any taxes and fees for the gift.
Call Amazon. See if they can check shipping, etc. I registered with Bed Bath and Beyond. About 6 weeks before the wedding, the wok we registered for was purchased. A week after that, a card with a gift receipt for the wok arrived from my great aunt and uncle, who weren't able to make it to the wedding. Weeks went by, and no wok ever showed up.
Amazon Prime Registry Review. I want to provide my experience using Amazon Prime as a wedding registry. Overall I do not recommend using Amazon for a wedding registry for a variety of reasons but the flaky customer service, not following through on promises, and lack of shipping options proved to be difficult to work with. Positives:
A couple getting married goes into a store or online ans signs up for a registry. They then select items they desire, either in store using an electronic scanner or online. This allows them to choose items in their style/taste, coordinate patterns/sets, pick what they need/want vs. what they may already have, etc.
