The Saint Francis of Assisi Complex in Louisville, Kentucky is a historic church at 1960 Bardstown Road. It was built in 1926-28 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. [1] It includes the St. Francis of Assisi School and a rectory, both designed by Fred T. Erhart (1870–1951).

St. Francis Church held its first service in 1867. In 1870 Fair Haven rejoined New Haven. In 1881 Ferry Street School was opened. [2] In 1885, Nathaniel Graniss donated land for the construction of the First Quinnipiac School. In 1888, Lancraft Fife and Drum Corps organized, practiced in Ed Lancraft's Oyster house.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis was founded in 1901 from the German School Sisters of St. Francis. The Polish Sisters withdrew and formed a new congregation to address the educational needs of the children of Polish immigrants, building St. Joseph Motherhouse in Stevens Point, Wisconsin the following year.

St. Joseph's was established as an independent parish in 1900, from territory taken in part from St. Mary's and also the parishes of St. Patrick and St. Francis, both in New Haven. The present St. Joseph church building was constructed between 1904 and 1905, and was dedicated on October 22, 1905.
