The Guyon Hotel is a historic former hotel in Chicago, Illinois.The hotel was designed by Jens J. Jensen - no relation to the famous landscape architect Jens Jensen - in 1927 and was built in red and cream brick with arched windows on two floors and exquisite, detailed terra cotta ornaments typical of Jensen's work.
The Chicago brewery and tap room opened in 2016, [513] and added a kitchen in 2017. [514] It closed in 2018. [515] [516] Ballast Point Tasting Room and Kitchen, Chicago brewpub. Ballast Point Brewing Company was founded in San Diego in 1996. It was acquired by Constellation Brands in 2015. The brewpub in Chicago opened in 2018.

[4] When the Allerton Hotel first opened, it had fourteen floors of small apartment-style rooms for men and six similar floors for women, with a total of 1,000 rooms. The hotel also boasted social events, gold, sports leagues, a library, solarium, and an in-house magazine. [5]
After the sale, the hotel underwent major renovations including a new lobby, new guest rooms, bathrooms, and a refurbished lobby and bar. The primary historic façade and trademark "Inn of Chicago" neon sign were restored. [7] The restoration resulted in 359 guest rooms, six suites, and 5,800 square feet (540 m 2) of meeting space.
Originally marketed by YMCA as a cheap residence for young, single men, the hotel began marketing to a wider clientele when the Great Depression created a demand for inexpensive lodging. The hotel's status and customers declined with the surrounding neighborhood, and it closed in 1979; it reopened as an apartment building in 1985. [ 2 ]
Sold and later renamed to Brehon Pub. The Mirage Tavern was a drinking establishment at 731 N. Wells St. in Chicago purchased by the watchdog group Better Government Association and the Chicago Sun-Times in 1977 to investigate widespread allegations of official corruption and shakedowns visited on small businesses by city officials.
A portion of the district (named the Fulton-Randolph Market District) was granted Landmark District status by the City of Chicago in 2015.
