The stadium is primarily used for baseball and was the home of Riverside Pilots before they moved to Lancaster to become the Lancaster JetHawks in 1996. It was also the home of the Riverside Red Wave from 1988 to 1990. The stadium was the site of the Division II College World Series from 1980 to 1984. [2]
Justin Johnson (born January 3, 1977) is an American baseball coach and former outfielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the UC Riverside Highlanders. He played college baseball at Mt. San Antonio College for coach Art Mazmanian from 1996 to 1997. He has also been the head coach of the Saint Katherine Firebirds (2014).

Silva played college baseball at California State University, Fullerton from 1993 to 1995 for coach Augie Garrido. He then went on to play in the minor leagues and in the Chinese Professional Baseball League from 1995 to 2001. Prior to playing professionally, Silva attended Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California.
