Nickey Chevrolet was originally established at 4120 Irving Park Road. When the Northwest Expressway (completed on 5 November, 1960, and later renamed the Kennedy Expressway) was constructed, Nickey Chevrolet moved to 4501 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago. Nickey Chevrolet eventually grew to a 200,000-square-foot (19,000 m 2) facility.
In subsequent months, the "TakeOver" moniker became the brand used by WWE for all of their NXT live specials. Announced on April 3, 2017, TakeOver: Chicago was scheduled as the 15th NXT TakeOver event and was held on May 20, 2017, as a support show for that year's Backlash pay-per-view. It was held at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Celozzi-Ettleson Chevrolet was a Chevrolet dealership located in Elmhurst, Illinois. Advertised that it was the "#1 Chevy dealer in the nation", it was owned by Nick Celozzi and Maury Ettleson and operated at the corner of York and Roosevelt roads from February 1968 to October 2000.
Chicago finished runner-up in two of their first three seasons, falling short in the 2011 and 2013 league championship game. In 2014, the Outlaws finished an 8–1 regular season [ 2 ] and went on to win their first CILL Cup.
