Llandaff (/ l æ n ˈ d æ f /; Welsh: Llandaf [ɬanˈdaːv]; from llan 'church' and Taf) is a district, community and coterminous electoral ward in the north of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It was incorporated into the city in 1922.
Cardiff Metropolitan University (Welsh: Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd), is a public university located in Cardiff, Wales. Formerly known as the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC; Welsh: Athrofa Prifysgol Cymru, Caerdydd, APCC) which was established in 1996. The university offers degree courses in a variety of disciplines.
Its mission also includes supporting the Welsh food industry. The centre, which is part of UWIC's Cardiff School of Health Sciences at the university's Llandaff campus, was launched in 1999. A new facility for the centre opened on 21 April 2009 and was built at a cost of £5,000,000. [1] [2]

The Taff Trail cycle route runs through the nearby Pontcanna Fields, just to the north of Llandaff Fields. Bus services run along Cathedral Road and Cardiff Road, to the south and east of the park. [6] WJEC's headquarters and the University of Wales Institute Cardiff's Llandaff campus are located just beyond the northern boundary of the fields.

[5] In 2013, Cardiff Metropolitan University put its 2.25 acre Howard Gardens campus up for sale with the intention of moving to a new site in summer 2014. [6] The School now occupies a brand new purpose built building at the university's Llandaff Campus.
