Nhu Xuan (Vietnamese: Như Xuân) is a district of Thanh Hóa province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2018 the district had a population of 72,000. [ 1 ] The district covers an area of 860 km².

Trần Lệ Xuân (Vietnamese pronunciation: [t͡ɕən˨˩ le˧˨ʔ swən˧˧]; 22 August 1924 [2] – 24 April 2011), more popularly known in English as Madame Nhu, was the de facto First Lady of South Vietnam from 1955 to 1963. She was the wife of Ngô Đình Nhu, who was the brother and chief advisor to President Ngô Đình Diệm.
Xuân served under Prime Minister Nguyễn Văn Tâm during the French-backed State of Vietnam era in the 1950s in military security. [1] When Diệm became Prime Minister of the State of Vietnam, Xuân fought for him as an officer in the Vietnamese National Army (VNA) in the Battle for Saigon in May 1955, against the Bình Xuyên organised crime syndicate that sought to take over the capital. On July 10, 1938, Zhou Xuan and Yan Hua held their wedding at the Spring Garden Hotel in Beijing. Zhou Xuan and Yan Hua's marriage lasted only three years because both parties suspected that the other had an affair due to rumors. After several quarrels, Zhou Xuan even ran away from home. In 1941, Zhou Xuan and Yan Hua divorced.
