The Sunnyside Sun absorbed the weekly Sunnyside Times in 1962. The paper was acquired by the Oregon-based Eagle Newspapers in 1984. [5] Eagle bought the competing Daily News as well, and merged the two in 1986 to form the Daily Sun News.
