The Kirkwood Historic District, in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, is a large historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The district included 1788 contributing buildings, a contributing structure, and three contributing sites on 850 acres (3.4 km 2). [1]

The building was built in 1900 at the intersection of Forsyth Street and Walton Street in the Fairlie-Poplar district of downtown Atlanta. [1] [2] Around 1936, an Art Deco facade was added to the building. [1] Today, the building stands as one of the oldest commercial buildings in the district. [1]
The ten-story building was designed by Wadley B. Wood of Washington, D.C., and originally served as an office building. It was named after former mayor of Atlanta John Thomas Glenn. An Art Deco parking garage was constructed adjacent to the building in 1928, but was demolished in the 1990s and replaced by a larger parking garage. [1]
