Braga was born in Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte on 27 November 1948. [1] [2] She attended Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and graduated with a degree in medicine in 1972. [2] She moved to Nova Friburgo after her graduation. There, she worked as a doctor, primarily in rural areas. [3]
It is also a NUTS3 subregion of the Norte Region. [2] The seat of the intermunicipal community is Braga, Norte. Cávado comprises part of the former Braga District. The population in 2011 was 410,169, [3] in an area of 1,245.79 square kilometres (481.00 sq mi), [4] which makes it one of the most densely populated subregions of Portugal.
