Since 2006, KTPK has done a radiothon for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas. The radiothon takes place at Topeka's West Ridge Mall, each year during a week in August, on a Tuesday through Thursday from 6 AM to 6 PM.

In 1885 the first high school in Great Bend opened. The Central School facility, a new high school building, was built in 1908. The 1885 building was razed prior to 1908, and then a junior high school was built on that site in 1912. There was an east building at the Central School built in 1912.

Great Bend High School is a public high school located in Great Bend, Kansas, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is the only high school in Great Bend USD 428 public school district. The athletic teams are known as the Panthers and all athletic programs compete in the 5A division according to the KSHSAA .
The Great Bend Aspect is the region occupied by the Wichita people from 1475 to 1700 [1] in modern day Kansas. The Great bend aspect consists of habitation sites in what are now known as McPherson, Butler, Rice, Marion, Cowley, and Wilson counties. [1] In addition to this, there were several village clusters throughout the great bend aspect.
The facility is primarily used by the Great Bend High School football and track & field teams. [1] The stadium underwent renovation recently. [ 2 ] The stadium was also used as a temporary home by nearby Hoisington High School after much of Hoisington suffered severe damage from an F-4 tornado on April 21, 2001.
