To answer your question. A Boatmate trailer is a bunk style trailer - the boat sits on bunks mounted to the frame, a Ram-Lin Trailer is a frame style trailer (at least most, are I saw a new Byerly with a Ram-Lin bunk trailer) - the boat sits on the frame itself.
Boatmate can customize their trailers and I don't think there will be any issues with getting it in a 28' garage. I was talking to them a couple years ago about getting our G23 to fit in our 24.5' garage (with a swing away tongue). They could get it down to 24'2" or 24'3" (including the distance the pipe sticks out past the back of the trailer).
Boatmate said it’s fine. Sh1tty single layer paint job. And every time I go to the local trailer manufacturer in Orlando that built the preferred Correct Craft trailer for over 20 years, they have semi loads of Boatmates trailers there, they come in complete.
I used to work right next door to Boat Mate in Maryville TN at Skiers Choice (Supra/Moomba) They build Trailers for Centurion,Malibu,Supra,Moomba and some Correct Craft. They will build custom as well. Contact Jerry or Owen at Boatmate they can help answer any questions you may have. Randy_in_Ohio. Members Profile.
56. January 2015. 13. Posted June 28, 2018. I've got a 2015 T23 on a 2015 Boatmate trailer with surge brakes. The trailer brakes have felt weak to non-existent, worsening lately, so I took it to the dealer. They've since replaced the main cylinder and one of the calipers and flushed all the lines. It's apparently rigged up to go to the port ...
06-08-2024, 10:48 AM. I bet one source of the boatmate angst was from SN200 owners where early on the Boatmate trailers were causing wear on the hull where the chines hit the bunks during loading & unloading. Some owners retrofit the trailer with an extra roller to help prevent the wear on the gelcoat.
To determine if the axle is failing, do a jack test. By removing the wheel and situating the jack at end of the trailing arm, furthest from the spline on the axle, then jack it up. If the trailer starts to raise, the axle is good. If the trailing arm continues upward without lifting the trailer, the axle has failed.
It is in the tongue. Check the ground wire on it first. A lot of trailers have grounding issues that don't reveal themselves because they often self-ground to the vehicle through the trailer hitch. As you were backing up it's possible that the hitch unloaded and lost this electrical ground.
2016 Nautique G23 Boatmate Trailer For Sale. 05-04-2016, 01:07 PM. I have a 2016 all black Boatmate tandem axle trailer for sale. It is a basic trailer with the swing away tongue, and the teak colored fender pads that say nautique on them. All led lights, disc brakes, etc etc Trailer has probably 100 miles on it.
Ram-Lin uses heaver gauge metal than Boatmate, and while some might think that Boatmates look better, I prefer a beefy design over Boatmate's flashy, low-profile looks. I have certainly never understood their use of low-profile tires on boat trailers. That's just asking for bent wheels. Some people love Boatmate trailers, but I much prefer Ram-Lin.
