Dio Brando (Japanese: ディオ・ブランドー, Hepburn: Dio Burandō), later known mononymously only as Dio (DIO （ ディオ ）), is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Japanese manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki.

Hol Horse [b] is a former servant of Dio who fought against Jotaro Kujo and his allies in 1988. Ten years after Dio's defeat, he is tasked with finding and returning Petsounds to its rightful owner. Hol Horse wields the Stand Emperor, [c] a long range Stand resembling a gun that can steer the bullets it fires.
Matthew Mercer provides Jotaro Kujo's English voice in the TV anime. In Japanese, Jotaro was voiced by Jūrōta Kosugi in the OVAs, [7] but has been voiced by Daisuke Ono since JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. Ono first learned of the series when he was studying in college during his free time and came to enjoy the manga.

Joseph is able to pass it on to Jotaro, but is killed by Dio, who extends his ability duration from 5 to 9 seconds thanks to Joseph's blood. Jotaro then fights Dio alone, slowly discovering that he shares Dio's time-stopping ability. The battle ends with Jotaro defeating Dio using the ability and subsequently killing him.
